Evelyn and Fred lived in Champaign-Urbana, IL where they had two sons, Doric and Kurt. In 1962, the family moved to Spokane where she continued post graduate work in Music at Whitworth College. Over her 60 years in Spokane, she served as Choir Director, Chorister and later Church Council Board Member at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Evelyn also enjoyed the game of Bridge, playing weekly whenever she could assemble a foursome. Bridge, art and music were among her great passions in life.
Professionally, Evelyn served as Executive Director of the Spokane Chapter, American Institute of Architects, for 44 years. She served on the Council of Architectural Component Executives (CACE) and supported the AIA Chapter Board of Directors and AIA members through education and advocacy. Through her work on CACE, she informed and educated Members of Congress, State Legislators and other policy makers through the AIA Grassroots network. She also volunteered on the Board of Lutheran Social Services of Washington.
